A group of us when out to Centralia, Pa. in the fog and snow. The residents of the coal town were relocated after an underground coal fire made much of the place uninhabitable. The fire started in 1962 when Centralia had about 1,000 residents. Today it's closer to 10.
Charlie's parents are buried in the cemetery. He grew up in Centralia before the fire forced the family to move. Now he returns to hand-made coal carts.
